Jeetika Malik is a Ph.D. candidate at the Centre for Urban Science and Engineering (CUSE), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. Her main research interests lie in the fields of building energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and building performance. Jeetika holds a Master’s degree in Building Engineering and Management from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi (2015) and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (2012).

Her doctoral research entitled ‘Adaptive Thermal Comfort for Affordable Residential Buildings in India’ deals with the development of adaptive thermal comfort standards suitable to Indian context and analyses the potential factors contributing to the evolution of thermal comfort . Her research aims at understanding the paradigm shift in the notion of adaptive thermal comfort with changes in occupant behaviour and lifestyle. The developed framework would be validated for the case of Mumbai’s affordable housings and will be helpful in formulating guidelines and recommendations for localized thermal comfort. The broader aim of her study is to enhance occupant well-being leading to improved quality of life and to reduce building energy consumption for combating climate change.

Her research has been published and presented  in peer-reviewed international journal  and conferences like Sustainable Cities and Society, International Building Performance Simulation Association Conference and International Conference on Advances in Energy Research.
