Swapnil R. Kendre is a Ph.D. candidate at Centre for Urban Science and Engineering (CUSE), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. He has completed his M.Tech. in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering from IIT Madras. His Master’s thesis is entitled  ‘Temporal Variation in Scour around Bridge Piers’, where he has worked on tandem arrangement of different shaped bridge piers models.

Prior to joining IIT Bombay, he has worked as a faculty member in an engineering college for 9 years. After completion of his graduation in Civil Engineering, he has spent one and half years in Shapoorji Pallonji  and co. ltd. on various projects as a Graduate Engineer Trainee. He also has experience in planning and execution of projects in General Motors and Fiat Motors.

His research work focuses on strategies to improve resilience and sustainability of urban water supply systems with the focus on tier II cities of  Maharashtra.
